What's your favorite Ka-Bar for bushcraft?

I currently own the EsKaBar but I want something that looks more "KaBar" for some bushcraft fun. Probably the USN Mark 1? And other options?

Take a look at the rest of the Becker series. They all have a full tang, but the MK1 and the USMC both have stick tangs. Probably nothing to worry about with a stick tang, especially from Ka-Bar, but full tang gives far more confidence when using.

Though the BK7 doesn't really appeal to me that much, it's Ethan Becker's updated idea of the classic Ka-Bar Fighting Utility. My personal favorite at the moment is the BK15.

Well ... there's the legendary 1217 USMC and its new update, the 1317 Dog's Head Utility Knife ...

And KaBar's BK7 still retains a 1217 flavor while being more robust and a better bushcrafter ...

Then there's the smaller BK17 ...

And the mid-sized 1275 Bull Dozier, and the ...

Can't really add to what these two have said. I don't yet own a BK7 but based on what I've read in the BK&T subforum and other places, I think it may fit the bill for what you're seeking and it pays homage to that classic KA-BAR design.

I'd suggest the MK1 or BK16. Personally I prefer others for various reasons but I own both of these and know you can't go wrong with either as an all around bushcraft always on your hip Knife.

I always have with me a mod'd bk9, bk12, bk15, and bk14. But if I had to only have one, it could be any of these but if I could choose it would be the stock bk9 and 2nd would be the bk16

1217 or Mark 1. I like the Mark 1 better for the shorter blade which makes it a little more robust for bushcraft. The 1217 is great as well, and makes an excellent hunting and camping knife. I don't like to use the 1217 for prying or battoning, the tang is a little narrow for abuse. It is better suited for combat or dressing than splitting or wrench on branches or logs with, which is more of a job for a Becker BK2 like TBL posted. The Beckers have thick blades and robust tangs better suited for abuse and bushcraft. Just my two cents.
