I want to your opinions. What is your favorite katana and why?
And anybody with a Dynasty forge katana, let us know what you think of it.

HSTS 9260 Tsunami - tough, sharp, nice blade geometry, solid mounting, balance, handling, saya fit, and great tsukamaki/wrap. Inexpensive enough (sub $300) to not worry about cutting/handling wear and tear.

I have a couple Dynasty Forge Musha 1060's... a shinogi zukuri and a shobu zukuri. DF Musha's are tough sub $400 (recent prices are above $300) kats. Mounting is good for price point. Wide blade profile, somewhat tip heavy, but solid cutters.

Where do you get an HSTS katana? I went to their website before and they were sold out, does anyone retail them. I've seen a lot of good cutting with that blade. Are the handles on the Dynasty tapered or similar to Hanwei?

HSTS sometimes has stock that is not listed on their site. Best to just use their web site contact form to see what they might currently have, or ETAs. I think sometimes their stock gets sold out before they even have to list it on the site.

The DF tsukas are nicely tapered and have profiles on the thinner side... wraps are quite good and they use hishigami.

My Nease TiKat is my favorite because it's Ti and chisel ground. Black wrap over Red.

Hi TB- William test cut with it and it almost cut through a 3ish" diameter rope with one cut. Not bad for Ti.
Ask William if he has a pix. Mine are bad.

Yea, I saw the video. He took part of a blade and chopped through a metal bolt with it, with minimal damage.
