I like the CBL so much I think it may be required on all my future knives. What do you guys think?

Paul

RIL is my favorite lock hands down. I also like the Compression lock, Hawk lock, Axis lock, and I've always liked the Back Lock. I have yet to try out CBBL, but I found the exposed BBL to be a bit too slippery and hard to use quickly to my liking.

Love the CBBL. Excellent lock.

I really like how Spyderco does their frame and liner locks. Perfectly executed and much better then your average run of the mill frame/liner locks.

The Compression lock is also a winner, perfect for the Para. :)

It's much too difficult to pick just one. Sometimes it all depends on the mood.:D:thumbup:

reeve frame lock
Axis lock
Compression lock

Like the 3 above about the same--find them all effective and strong enough for me

For me, the mid lock wins, hands down. Left handed backspring style liner lock (like the V'nox Sentinel) comes in a distant second. Left handed Walker style liner lock is an even more distant third. Everything else could disappear tomorrow.

Hands down, full sized regular BBL. Love the Dodo, Phoenix and D'Allara!

But I gotta say, using the DPUKPK exclusively for the last several weeks, I have yet to miss having a lock at all....

A reliable lock. :D
The compression lock is for me. The FL is overkill, imo.

a liner/frame lock is probably my favorite, since it is my most used and owned version.

however, i am very impressed by the compression lock, but unfortunately i have not been in love with any of the knives it is attached to.

I love lockback more than axislocks and bblocks if only because of the possible risk of disengagement for the latter when held in a traditional sabre grip. Mercop (George) convinced me that the convenience I enjoyed with my axis locks wasn't worth the risk of having them close by accidentally pulling the lock during use. Lockbacks just don't have that disadvantage. Linerlocks are so poor in general, I just won't own one. Framelocks are stronger but are still generally for right handers unless I want to pop for a Chris Reeve. Hmm just may do that someday if they ever get common sense and start a new Umfaan.

If you have no faith in liner locks you need to handle the Spyderco Military. Best liner lock in the business.

Part of my antipathy toward liner locks is reported failures among users (your point being, and well taken, is that quality and strength varies.). The other part is that they are generally a right handed man's knife. I'm a southpaw. I like Spyderco and the Military. Thought it was just a rightie knife. Let me know.

Verb.

A well executed Framelock or Linerlock. Haven't tried the CBBL, but I'm thinking of picking up a Manix2.

Backlocks seem kind of plain to me.
