What's your favorite steel that CRK has used or uses ? Why do you like it ?

I like s35vn best. I have knives in s35vn, s30v, and bg 42. I have really 'used' the other 2 steels I mentioned enough to have an

opinion 1 way or the other. I like s35vn because it holds an edge well and is easy for me to sharpen.

S30V has always been my favorite as I have the most experience with it from all the regulars I have had. I have used S35VN more lately and I do not see a huge difference. I have used BG-42 and it's definitely harder to sharpen. Can't forget about Damascus. I liken it to the same performance of S30V.

The main thing with with all of them is to not let the knife get "dull".

I really like the performance of s35. I have used all 4 of the stainless steels, and the stainless Damascus as well. My second favorite would be bg42, but at this point I don't use that one as much becasue it would cost me a fortune to replace!

Once I discovered the great working edge that develops on S35VN, I have become a great fan of this steel. I have no experience with BG42, but have an Umnum in S30V, as well as knives by other makers in other steels.

S35VN is a great performer for real life knife uses. Parlour tricks, not so much, but I'm bored of slicing paper anyways. I like cutting things I need to cut.
