Which type of wood do you personally find to be more attractive or desirable on a knife?

Anything on one of Bill Akers's (Backwoods Custom Knives) knives. The guy could probably make scales out of particleboard and they'd look amazing...

Cocobolo is my favorite.

I also like rosewood, amboyna, ironwood, koa, and just about any other wood that's not laminate or artificial.

Bubinga...I have a small piece of it that I've been thinking about using as scales for my Skyline.

Kingwood, Cocobolo, Lingum vitae, Bocaut (not sure about spelling). Not only look nice, but are also very practical. Hard, would not crack or chip, and having their own oils are very water/dirt resistant.

A piece of (stabilized) highly figured Bocote always appeals to me. Cocobolo can be stunning but the more you handle it the darker it gets until eventually it almost turns black.
