What's Your Favorite XM-18 Scale Color?

I was thinking of departing from black and trying another color. It's hard to make a choice when looking at a page from a vendor's website.

My thoughts (other than black) were the green/black or the blue/black. If you reply with a color and you also have a suggestion on which ano'ed clip set you'd choose for it too, that would be cool. Thanks! :D

I really like the smooth CF scale. That's definitely one of my favorites. I like the new blue/black and blue scales. I have every color and love them all. Other than smooth CF I can't say I like one color more than another. Blue ano all the way! The bronze looks cool too.

I personally prefer the Swamp scum scale. I have a black and an od green scale, which I probally should sell due to never using them.
As for the ano'ed clip set, I don't have one. I do however have a Kiss@ss skull filler tab which I got from Rick. I love it on the XM.

I really like my Orange scale with the blue clip. Go Gators!!:D

Here's one of my favorite combinations on my Fatty Slicer. There's to many combinations to post but this is usually how I set up my EDC knife. Although right now I'm rocking a tan scale with a two tone lockside.

This is just a bead blasted clip and filler on a hand rubbed lock side.

Remember that blasting your clip and filler then anodizing it. Gives them a totally solid color and looks very cool!

Like such.

Beadblasted and anodized blue.

You have lots of options. Which ever you decide on your knife will look great!

Rick that fatty slicer is off da hook. You've built a hell'r collection bro.

These pics are so cool....thanks! I'm thinking of getting a blue/black g-10 scale for my XM-18 next payday. What's a good color clips set for both the black scaled & a blue/black (it's stonewash Ti handle)? I'm kind of challenged for decorating and color combos. :o Seems like the blue set would be the one.

Thanks Atony!

For the blue/black I'd suggest the blue clip filler combo for sure!

What's the difference about "fatty's?" I keep reading about 'em and don't really now what the deal is with them.

After a couple of yrs. lurking on Rick Hinderer subforums & XM threads I still haven't figured out all of the parlance....tragic. :o

Hmmm a Fatty. The best way to describe one is picture a 3.5 inch XM24 blade. On an XM18 frame. The XM18 Fatty is significantly thicker than a regular XM18. Rick, Rob, myself and I'm sure everyone who's seen them love the way the Slicer grind looks on a Fatty blade. The grinds really stand out. I'll post some comparison pics soon. They're also quite rare.

A Fatty feels like you're holding a 3.5 inch XM24. Lol. Hope that makes sense.

My new favorite and in town edc is the older translucent Jade scale on a non-Fatty Slicer. Thanks to Rick and Eric!

That is an excellent explanation rickCPD. I appreciate it. Now I know I'll never own one since it's a custom that are for sale at shows or an eye-popping aftermarket price point.

Does anyone have pictures of an XM-18 or XM-24 with a blue/black or a green/black scale. Guess they aren't popular.

I googled "XM-18 blue/black scale" on google "images" and the "web" yesterday and could ony find pics frim vendor's websites selling scales - not an assembled knife.

I'll take a pic of the green/black scale later.

Sorry if I got carried away. Figured if I was pulling up another pic. Might as well post up a few of my other knives. I'll post more later.
Hope these help you decide which you wanna go with. My advice to you is. Get them all. Haha.

Holy Hinderers Batman! Those are some sweet scales upsidedownviking!

rickCPD You've really got me on the hook. I wanted this one at first but thought it might be too fancy. It's really nice. It really makes a difference to see them on the knife and not by themselves. I hope you have time to shoot the green/black....nudge ...nudge!
