Ok just got back into fishing . I mostly Fish small ponds and I fish from the shore line . Just saw some video on the tube and saw people using senko warms . And I said Ill give it a shot . I bought some Gary Yamamoto man the bass love them caught two the first day and two the second day . And I only was out for less than 1 hr . Im use to using spinners and hard baits . The times I used plastic it was like a grub or some type of craw fish and never caught a bass .

Now just want to ask what's your go to soft bait ? What color ? Etc . Love to hear from you guys . I'm learning as I go only been fishing for less than 4 yrs. and I love it . My son not as much so I go when time is permitted . That's why I take them to deferent lakes on The weekends they think is fun so do I :) .

Pumpkinseed senkos work well. At times a big purple powerbait worm dragged on top of weed beds will get a lot of bass too. Scum frogs do that well also.

Fish mostly Sam Rayburn. Just can't seem to get away from the Zoom Watermelon Seed Big Dead Ringers.

Just always seem to work best for me. Dip last half of tail in Chartreuse (sp?).

I have never used a soft plastic that didnt catch fish. I like them all. if i had to pick one for bass, Id go with a wave Tiki Stick because of its versatility.

Gotta be a G.Y. 3'' single tailed grub in Smoke Salt and Pepper with a 1/4 oz darter leadhead....

Creme worms in "natural" or "blue-berry", Zoom worms in "Bubble-gum" and recently Gulp [Berkley product] "Smelt".

Tough to find Creme products these days, but the Gulp stuff is ubiquitous and I have even caught cat-fish with it. In each case I rig with no weights, sink-twitch-sink type retrieve. If you want a faster presentation any paddle-tale grub in "Water-melon" has done well for me for LM bass - 1/4 OZ round jig-head.

Tight Lines!

Fishing talk on a knife forum!!! Best of two worlds... I love a watermelon seed lizard and its barely beats out the watermelon red senko.

Zoom brand lizards, green color with red speckles (or any brand lizards, I just like Zoom cause their inexpensive). Best soft plastic for for bass around here I've used.

I also like the black ones with the chartreuse tails.

Went out today and it was HOTTT and humid tried the zoom in heavy weed . Texas rig with a sinker did not catch any . A lot of foot work plus I had my nephew with me he was done in a 1 hr . So we went back to an area where there's sunnies and did that for for fun . I need to learn how to pick lures for condition . Water color , heavy weeds , green water , stain water , ,etc . Any info will help .

Senko in Junebug or Tikistick Red shad works well for me most of the time. A Zoom super salty fluke in pearl-white works pretty well too, for both largemouth and landlocked stripers.

A weightless senko twitched on top of the weeds and let to rest in openings is a good tactic.

Very good. I only fish senkos weightless. If you want a cheaper alternative Walmart has strike king versions as well as the other type of yamamoto

I had a pack of the strike king and the line was to long for 1 pack of warm so I left it . I don't mine paying the extra 1 that's the difference . So I got the baby bass color . I want to try that on grassy areas with green weeds .

I find the strike king ones last longer but they're not as flexible. The senkos tear real easy but have better action. I personally like the strike king ones myself.

When we were in England a few years ago we saw a lot of fisherman along the canals with long (20 ft.) rods and what looked like ultralite tackle. Many of them used maggots for bait. One fisherman I talked to claimed (gag!) the best way to hold them was in your mouth, below your lip. I guess that qualifies as soft bait.
