Ok, so your all probably sick of me creating threads about the mini rukus, however, I just want your opinions, good and bad, and I figured if I don't ask, i'll never know.

So basically I have to option to buy this knife, in a plain edge, just like I wanted, yet its the black blade, and the price is 200 dollars, whereas if I'm not sure what a private seller on BF would ask for it.

So should I buy it from this store, with a black blade, or is it likely that I'll find a satin finish version for a better price on the BF Marketplace?

I'm maybe thinking of getting the black blade, as it seems there are no australian members selling anything.

I was gonna do a poll, but I don't know how to

thanks

You want it as an EDC, right? Post in the WTB for a used one. It'll be less.

Is the offer only open to you for a limited time?

not so much as an EDC, due to knife laws over here, more backpacking and hiking, or dayhikes
and I have put a post in the WTB, had 4 views and no replies in 6 days, how longg would you say a reply would take, doesn't seem like many people look at that part of the forum very often, as my post is the onyl one in there
EDIT: and the fact that they have to be in australia is probably against me too

There is a 615S Mini RUKUS for sale on Ebay.au for about what you want to spend. Yes it is a bit higher by 20 bucks AU but if it is what you want then I don't see why you wouldn't buy it. Ity is listed as a buy it now or best offer...offer the guy what you have and see if he will come down.

I want a plain edge though, so its a bit harder. thanks for the information though
EDIT: the offer may expire, someone may buy it, yet it is black so maybe that why its still there

The Benchmade 615 is a great blade for EDC IMO.. It is built like a tank and is a extremly stout blade.. I would go ahead a pick it up.. BTW you mentioned you would most likely carry it on hikes I have a 610 that gets carried by me when I go on hikes..They are the perfect outdoor folder..

The WTB forum doesn't just have one post in it-there're lots of hidden ones (hidden to registered users but not to paying members).

I've posted there about Spyderco factory seconds recently, 28 views no replies.

If you're getting it just for backpacking and hiking, I'd get the full size model 610 Rukus.

I would also avoid any kind of coating. Coatings lessen the ease of cutting of the blade. You should be able to get a Rukus in S30V brand new for well under U.S. $175.

Buy used knives whenever possible. When you get tired of them, you can sell them for close to what you paid. If you buy it new you will you be paying the top price.

Eventually one will come up for sale on bladeforums -especially if you post in the WTB forum that you want one. Search the first four threads just to make sure there isn't one now. I saw one last week for a decent price.

If it says no international shipping you may be able to convince them to send it to you anyways (heck, just give them a link to the threads you started about this knife), but you will have to pay more. You have to realize that they will not be responsible for the knife once it leaves the US. Especially if you don't fill out that form (that was talked about in another thread). Make sure to tell the seller that you are aware of this so that the seller has proof that you understand.

You seem dead set on getting this knife. Do your best and it will be yours.

Good luck.

are you saying to get the 610 if im not going to be carrying a fixed blade? If i were to carry a fixed blade, dont you think the 615 would be better due to its smaller size? Then again this is hiking where size isnt in my case a problem i just thought that having a decent sized fixed blade you would maybe want a smaller sized folder? Im not sure though as ive never carried knives before when hiking only those $10 multitools

@government - i can only see my thread in the WTB section and of those offers you saw were any of them from an australian seller because then custom doesnt have to get involved

thanks
