I want to hear what all you herd members think about beadblasted Ti or stonewashed Ti?

I prefer the stonewashed. You can beat the crap out of it and not even notice it's been to Hell and back! As well as the aesthetic appeal to it. It's sp purdy : )

Also, is the anodized stonewashed Ti scales only offered on customs, or can you get them on productions as well?

Occasionally you can get anodized ti on production folders like the bradley alias models which are now discontinued. I love the deep stonewashing that boker did on their albatros but at the same time I love the bead blasted ti on my sebenza and zt 550. it shows honest wear, looks good, feels good, and if I need to I can re-bead blast it myself later

I'm stonewashed all the way. I had 2 different bead blasted and scratched the heck (noticeably) out of them in an hour. I much prefer the stonewashed. Much more forgiving! :)

^ I agree with DPrichard. Bead blasted is nice for show. It is a classy and beautiful finish but scratches rather easily and shows wear pretty quickly. If you dont plan on carrying the knife then go for it. If it will be a user then you can't beat the stonewashed finish. A beadblasted knife if carried and used regularly gets that nice pocket tumbled look which in my opinion looks great and adds alot of character to a knife. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. P.S. I have a factory bronze anodized production XM-18 so it is available on production models as well as customs.

I thought it was yours I seen!! Very nice my friend! Now I'm on the hunt!! Glad to hear its a production, cause I don't want to spend for custom prices!

I've got an anodized blue 3.5" on the way. I don't mind the worn in look but how will the anodizing hold up over time? Doesn't anodizing wear off?

I have a few CRK's and I like how they show character over time. I'm wondering about the anodizing though...how will that look over time. I've seen anodizing wear off thumb studs etc.

I like how the beadblasted shows wear; makes the knife more personal as you use it.

I think you are correct calypso... The anodizing will eventually wear off over time. Give it some nice character!! I'm curious, Did you grab your knife in a package deal?

Yup, it was a package deal ;). Don't really need the other items so they will be moved along to someone who will enjoy them more than me.

I thought so! It was the first one to go!! Haha! Yeah I debated and debated getting one...

I don't need another one right now.

Now if it was stonewashed that would have been another story for my pocket book, fo sho!! Haha!

That's funny! It's like playing russian roulette, except there's a lot more bullets in the cylinder....

I much prefer the stonewashed. I actually like the carry marks on my sebenza 25, a little character is nice. However, for hinderers, I like stonewashed all the way. There is nothing that wears more "gracefully" than a well stonewashed blade.

I agree with you MRaymond.

I love the worn in look on my CRK's, but for hinderers that stonewash is awesome!! That's all I want

Go FSU :D

Stonewash rocks!
Go Gators!
