Elforyn looks nice but i have yet to pull the trigger on a knife with it.
Those of you that has experience with Elforyn what is your take on it; how does it feel, looks after wear (and tear) etc.

Pics of knives with Elforyn (preferable users) are more than welcome obviously.

It's available in Tanto so that should seal the deal.

It's not common, you'll probably get more replies in the CRK section.

For better or worse, mine shows no wear. Then again, maybe it’s picked up some skin oils and lost some sheen &/or brilliance over the last 15 months that I haven’t noticed because I feel no need to clean it.

As you probably know, it’s supposed to be faux ivory…I don’t own any real ivory so cannot make a direct comparison.

Personally, I could care less about it being an “ivory replacement.” I just think of it as smooth ivory (color) micarta and like it for that reason.

It does have a “grain,” which varies from sample to sample. I don’t really notice mine, because I don’t really look for it. Turn up your device’s brightness & zoom in on the pic below.

Is it “worth” whatever additional price it may add to a knife? Yes if you like it, no if you don’t.

Overall, it seems like a sturdy material that wears just fine imo.

How's it feel when wet? Grippy or slippery compared to the titanium sebbies?

It’s a small sebbie, so I haven’t done any hard sweaty man’s hands work with it…a lot of light to moderate EDC stuff is more like it.

However, I think I can safely say it’s more grippy than a bar of soap. 😁
Good to know 😂

You know, I wonder what they do with the rest of the elf's body? I could really use some elf leather gloves for the winter.

All kidding aside, it's not a material that interests me, yet. Maybe if I saw an entire handle/scale made from it instead of an inlay it might draw my eye. Other than that, I'd rather have something like the warthog tusk the iMamba uses.

I think they use them to make sausages at Christmastime.

Edit to answer the question: I like the look, but the only thing I've seen it on is the inlaid CRKs, and those aren't really my jam.

Thanks for taking your time here. I'm happy to read that it is a durable and wear resistance material sort of like Micarta. Beautiful knife btw.

Is it a fabric laid in a resin type of material like other micartas? Or maybe paper and resin like resin micarta? I think it'd feel pretty good if it is. I always kind of thought that it was a purely plasticty type of product without material in it (canvas, linen, paper etc.)

Randall knives likes it too, the only negative the shop foreman had was that it was apparently tricky to polish out well.

Lookswise, I find it nice if you can get an example with a lot of grain to it, it's also a nice feeling material overall.
