what's your travel khuk?

So we have trail khuks, why not travel khuks? The ones you pack with you on the road or checked into baggage?

I still like my 15" Sirupati, it was my first khuk and remains a great one for travel. Here's why. It's light. It's good for SD if I can't legally pack a gun. And it's good for a rescue situation if the need arises, such as getting myself or someone out of a crash or derailment or whatever. It's small enough to keep in my computer bag.

What about you? What do you consider your travel khuk?

A 12" Sirupati is always in the truck, but for road trips something more substancial is often taken. The UBE has traveled along, as has the Chiruwa AK and I'm betting the 18" Malla is going soon.

Good question. I have been thinking about this subject for a while.

In my PU is a 20" Sirupati, I just used it again last week. A friend and I were hunting in the woods. We needed fire wood and his axe was too much like work. I used that khukuri to cut tress up 6" dia no problem. He liked it so I just bought him a khukuri the other week from HI.

In my black travel bag I take out of town is 18" kobra for room protection.

In my backpack is a WW 2 16.5 and a S&W .22 kit gun.

In the tool box on the work float, is a Chiruwa AK.

In the garage on a nail is my BAS, used it last night.

In my hunting bag is a 18" Gelbu special, still in use, still hunting.

That's about it for travel khuks.

Thanks for asking. ;)

My 16.5" WWII is the one that I've taken on a few travels myself. Next to my 12" AK its the smallest one I have and thus the easiest to fit inside my travel bag.

My 16.5" WWII by Bura travels with me the most. It's really handy. It's also my Go to Khukuri when I don't know what to bring. 15" Sirupati goes when I need something a little lighter and smaller. :)

I might take my WWII with me on this trip...I will be on the train. I take it in my suitcase. It is a curio that I show my client and therefore is not a weapon.

I have a different khuk for every kind of trip i go on. it i'm going some place that i might get a chance to limb some trees the 18" WWII, YCS, or my new M43 will probably go. If i'm hiking or traveling anywhere by car (i don't do the plane thing) then i take along the noble little Pen Knife. If i will be walking through a questionable part of town the khukrambit gets tucked away in the jacket. If i'm just hopping in the truck and going somewhere in the wilds then it generally is a toss up between the PK and the mighty AK bowie. Then of course the bilton, JKM, or Sarge is on my belt pretty much every day;) Excuses. Excuses for uses is how i justify "one more khuk";)

My BGRS and Chitlangi go on all road trips with me. Along with some others if someone has requested me too bring along something I have they want to check out.

Methinks this year my 14" BDC is going along for the ride as well.:D

When travelling I take a 16.5" Chiruwa AK by Kesar. One of my first khuks, with a nice brown scabbard cover by the Sarki Shop. My true use it and abuse it khuk.

Emergency bag has a 20" villager WWII by Kumar or Sher. Dan put his great convex edge on it.

Standing ready for anything in the khuk closet are the 18" Bura GS and a Sanu YCS (my new user since the custom YCSs arrived), the rest are snuggled warm in their beds.
