I'm a bit nervous to post in here, you guys have a way of finding flaws. However, I guess that's also why I post in here. So, let's do this.

Nick Wheeler made a small paring knife the other day, which was the inspiration for this pattern. It's about 5 3/4" oal, .080" stock. The steel is belt finished 52100, curly maple scales with brass pins and an oil and varnish finish. Heat treat by Darrin Sanders to 62 rockwell.

I can't wait to make another of these. It is about the perfect size for front pocket carry, or low profile belt carry. I need a sheath made now, but I'm not sure how I want to carry it.

I think the next one I'm going to do in a stainless of some sort with elephant or mammoth ivory.

Anyway, here are some pictures. As always, comments and suggestions are welcome. These are the first pictures I've ever tried with a light box. It is just a hacked together thing, but I'm going to make a much better one for the next time I take pictures.

not a thing wrong with that sir, just needs serrations, and jimping entire blade LOL. I know you should be proud and please keep posting ! sheath answer, horizontal belt sheath, I have worn a different one for over 15 years in rotation. why ? out of the way, never feel it on , and pocket is empty, super fast draw.

You aren't the first person to suggest a horizontal sheath. I will have to look into this a bit more.

I was thinking, a saw back would really add to the aesthetic. A saw back, serrations, AND jimping. That would definitely set it off. Lol.
Joking, of course. No saw backs. A short half inch of 30 lpi jimping with a checkering file might not look too bad though.

I like it, too. Slightly thinner blade stock, full tang, drop point to give a strong tip, thick enough handle to give a good grip. I second the horizontal belt sheath. For a small FB like that, it's a great way to carry. That looks like a very useful EDC FB.

Thanks Dale. I hope it will be useful. I've been coon fingering it all morning and the handle feels really good.

Out of curiosity, I weighed it this morning. 0.9 oz. This thing is super light, and makes feather sticks like no other. I got bored at the park......
