If someone said name one thing that Spyderco will never make. Guess what it would be.

Companies located in the state of Colorado are not in a good position to make assisted-opening knives. Oregon and Florida, among other states, are auto-friendly. Colorado is not. Besides, Spyderco's claim to fame is opening as fast as or faster than a "switchblade."

My sentiments exactly, James

You've never seen a Spyderco employee open a knife, apparently....especially Sal..=)

who needs an auto?!

I don't believe in harming any living thing, so when a mosquito bites me on the arm, I just pet it..real hard and real fast

However . . . If Spyderco ever subcontracts to a California shop to make a 1-7/8" blade CA-legal (+19 other states) automatic mini Centofante, or maybe just a Ladybug on steroids, I want one!

I'll let somebody else figure out how to make that make economic sense.

Since I got my Rescue, I've also been wondering why would anybody want auto? Or need? Except if we're talking about cars...

Sorry 'bout that but it probably won't happen. we don't believe that it is worth the legal hassle, especially being a Colorado Company, and we do not believe that there is an advantage of an Auto over a Clipit (except for the "toy" factor).

Besides, there are many already in the marketplace.
