Found out some info Marsus the pic was taken in Florida in about 79 Bill was around 35. The sword is 23.6 inches long the fittings are damascus and the handle is Osage orange. Guard and but are also damascus. The pic is from a publication called Modern Handmade knives pg 47. I believe it went to a guy in Alaska where it is at now is anybody's guess. There where actually two swords the other had an 18 inch blade as for this sword I do not know where it went.. Both swords where shown in an article by B.R. Hughes in the Best of Knife World Vol 11 published in 83 in an article titled Master of Combat Knives. In the article on page 98 & 99 Mr Hughes states That Bill was the only contemporary Smith to sucessfully forge a full size damascus sword. I hope this info is helpful . Where did you find that article?
