Seen the Commando Bowie... buy never a SOG.

An M5 Bowie in KA-BAR Toooj'ed 1095 Cro-Van would be the ultimate Utility knife.

Might put BK&T on it's haunches...

The grinds on that Ek SOG Bowie is something one either love or hates.

But in any case, I do hope that Ka Bar might someday eventually consider to have it manufactured.
Also, that the scales on any future Ka Bar's Eks would not include rubbery stuff like neoprene or kraton.
Micarta or Thermoplastics would be acceptable standard fittings imo.

In some aspects, that would be entirely true.
I envision the K-Eks to be light weighted alternatives.
Considering Eks to be historically, more geared towards combat fighting/general purpose utility roles.
Almost certainly not efficient for any real bush or hard wood clearings.
Eks generally have a slim profile which aids in keeping bulk and rattle to a minimum
(not that it makes any sound besides the ripping velcro!).
The full tang Ek would make a descent choice for the hiker or adventurer.
Hmmm, as with anything not stain-less,
I do think that the adoption of any new finishing or coating technology
would proof to be exceptionally useful in the long run...

Myself, I already have the M5 Micarta Bowie. And a sweet knife it is.

I would love to see a CW5 the Checkered Walnut version.

I've got a black-cord Effingham M5 that has been a field knife since new.

Sure would like a Cro-Van version...

hoping a version of this debuts this week at shot - if it does, that means they will be ready to start showing up on shelves soon.

I thought the same thing. But didn't want to jinx it.
I'd rather they take their time and do it right. Than rush something to the market that bites them.

Ek Knives are wonderful products. But for whatever reason, they seem to have an Achilles Heel when it comes to business success. I am sure KA-BAR is keenly aware of this. And will take steps to avoid the pitfalls. I also hope they remain true to the EK Knives of the past.

Really excited to see what KA-BAR does with this... Seems like forever since we first heard something, but good things to those who wait and all that... I guess :D
