When can we expect the Boss Jack?

I'd like to think that the Boss Jack would be made available as a regular run (eventually) on the Busse combat site. Could we throw some predictions as to when it'll be made available? Just trying to figure out how much time I've got to set aside the cash for it. ;)

Hmmm.

Perhaps we should start a long-lived Thread calling for just this eventuality.

It's worked before!!:eek::)

I bet you within six months you'll see a production boss jack in coated form like the Boss Street with not many options.

But will it be large choil or small choil?

If there's any options, I assume it will be a choil option with no choil and large choil. If there's no option I would think they would go with what sold the most, the large choil or the no choil. They would be silly to produce a cg version with the elf choil, because given the options I'm sure that was probably the least popular.

I hope one of the options is a bead blasted finish.
Someone told me they will be available at blade show...................Oh wait that was me hoping and praying that some would be at blade show. I have always regretted not buying an original satin jack. Then I missed the proto Boss Jack.

This is an easy way to sell SHSJ without ruining the value of actual SHSJ's. These will be made in bulk. We are in a recession and when you sell a knife that is the pretty much exact version of your all time most popular knife you will find a way to bring it to market. You can call the BJ a prototype all you want. It is great marketing which is very smart business but at the end of the day you made a satin jack. The other knives in this size range that Busse has put out have been great, but they had very bulky handle shapes. How many times did you hear guys call for an infi ratmandu? A much more reasonable grip for a carry, trail, whatever knife. I am a betting man and this one will go large scale production because it is a sure thing and not all knives are (even busse knives). This one would get me off the sidelines for a couple three and I haven't done that since the NMSNFO. This is all but a done deal. Color me shocked if that doesn't happen. Oh yea, the price will be higher for a coated one than the steal that Jerry was offering on these. Good job on those who got in on that one!

A variation of an SJ yes hence the Acronym BOSS. Yes on the price it's already been stated. Full production? Maybe.

Want to bet? Knives aren't selling the way they used to. Just check the exchange and that is born out. I don't know what the acronym BOSS stands for so I will take your word for that. You say potato and I say potato and we can wordsmith this to death but this is a SHSJ for those who weren't here when they came out. The variation on the handle shape is minimal. Of course this will come out. IF having "proto" stamped on your user is important, if having a fuller is important, if having a tee-tiny choil is important (that won't make it to production I would guess), then by all means pay the exchange rate for a BJ. Every manufacturer likes a sure thing and this is it. The SAR's are cute, but no one is making them for anything other than a GW. Hence, no where near the GW frenzy. Cool knife, not anything even remotely new though. This is different a classic knife with just enough to (wink, wink) not call it a satin jack. This is a large scale, full production, winner. Unless Jerry is just being contrary and is averse to money, this has large production numbers written all over it. Just my opinion from someone who watches alot and buys a little. Don't get suckered into the 40% markup for these knives unless you think the proto tag will be worth something. Just my two cents, but I would wait this one out.

I'm assuming you've owned or own an SJ and a BJ? They feel similar but not by much. Busse has a large cult following so pretty much all his knives will sell regardless of model configuration so really popularity has little to do with his marketing patterns. Over the years I've seen quite a few of his models popularity start out rather slow and then all of a sudden two or three people rave about them on here and they get hot sell like crazy and usually for more money.

I hope we see metric shit-tons of them produced.

Either way I'm covered, but I'd still like to see it.

Not quite sure what we are disagreeing on. Do I think this will be made in large numbers? Yes. Is it a slight variation on the SJ with associated feels slightly different? Yes. Are busse's not selling like hot cakes? Yes. When the economy recovers will it go back to the frenzy it used to be? I don't think so. I think the guys who are thinking that all things collectible (including knives) are going to find a different dynamic. Sure, old classics will command high prices but the standard stuff isn't. Stuff isn't moving on the exchange all that well. Like I said earlier, the betting man says this comes out in big numbers. Business is business and in a recession you don't pass up a sure thing. Of course, time will tell and I could be wrong but on this one I doubt it. Either way, have a nice day and yes I will be waiting to order it on the website!
