There is no "better". There is only "better for a given purpose".
KaBar 1095 Cro Van is 1095 with some other elements added in to enhance the properties. It will hold a fine edge longer than D2. At KaBar's hardness of ~57, and if the geometries are the same, 1095 Cro Van will be a tougher knife than D2. 1095 Cro Van is also easier to sharpen in the field.
D2 will hold a working edge far longer and is somewhat more corrosion resistant. It will not be as easy to sharpen in the field.
Figure out what you want the knife to do, then choose the alloy that better supports that usage.
