The first regular LE damascus 112 that I know of was the BCCI club knife made to be a companion to the 110 but I've seen pictures of early Custom Shop 112's from the 80's. I know that there are a few loose blades that show up once in a very great while for sale and are expensive when they do. .But when were they first made? I've been trying to figure out just when Buck did a run and how many were made and why they are so rare. Damascus 110's are much more common and there are quite a few separate editions with different handles spread out over 20 years. But damascus 112's are a completely different story. .It almost seems like Buck made a run of blades in the late 70's and have not made made any since and just stamped the tang when they were needed. Since I collect rare odd 112's I've found ALL damascus 112's are rare and frankly seldom are offered for sale. I have a couple including my very first 112 David my brother had made for me in a nickel silver frame with pre ban Ivory he scrimmed himself. I did not know how special it was till a few years later. So any imformation about when, how many, different tang stamps and any other limited editions damascus 112's or blades would be most appreciated!

How about these DM club LEs? I have no idea when they sold them in the CS. The BCCI catalog and price list shows 1989 as the first year to have the 112 Ranger available in DM on their price list.

The first custom shop price list shows that it was available but I can't remember seeing a damascus blade with custom shop numbers. I am hoping some of the mystery surrounding 112 damascus blades will come out. .

I have a rare 110V with Demascus blade from the El Cajon factory in the '80s. Don't think there are many around like this one.

Probably half if not more of my custom shop knives do not have serial numbers. They were either done before they started using them, the customer requested no serial number, or the employee built it for them self or a friend without one.

I just opened a photobucket account, downloaded this picture and cut and pasted the IMG code into the body of my post. This is the result.

You may be doing something wrong.

I tried to paste the IMG code into the drop down image box and this is what happened.

I then cut and pasted the DIRECT code into the drop down image box and this picture appeared.

I think you need to experiment with all of the options until you find success.

300 has a nice Damascus blade 112 from the old custom shop but I cant recall if it is serialized, hopefully he can take a look and let us know

1997 is the year the club damascus 112 came out. .I think. In a 2008 thread Joe said that the BCCI club knife was the only LE damascus 112 project he was aware of. I'm not sure of the process Buck uses when the decision is made to make a run of blades or the amount that's done and I'm sure in the case of damascus the amount is much less than say S30V or BG42. When Joe had a run of BG42 112 blades done in 2002 it was only 100 or so. It would bewonderful to know just how many 112 damascus blades were ever made for the custom shop and when and if any are left tucked away in some dusty box or closet. .
