My thinking is that the MOLLE system dates to the last 10 or 12 years or so. I would think a 1994 Buck 650 would predate the MOLLE system, it can't be a "TOTAL FACTORY ISSUED PACKAGE" can it? I think Buck has only offered the MOLLE sheath recetly with the TOPS version.

VERY RARE--- 1994 BUCK 650 TACTICAL BLACK BLADE FIGHTING KNIFE & BUCK MOLLE SHEATH. TOTAL FACTORY ISSUED PACKAGE, ORIGINAL BOX, PAPERWORK, 650 SHEATH AND A RAZOR-SHARP 6-1/4 INCH BLACK OXIDE STAINLESS BLADE KNIFE. TOTAL COLLECTOR QUALITY THROUGHOUT

Not sure about Buck but, "The MOLLE system was introduced in 1997. However, it did not see widespread issue until after the September 11, 2001, attacks and was used by U.S. troops serving in Afghanistan and, later, Iraq"

-wikipedia

so it would seem that 1994 would predate MOLLE. I'm not sure if PALS is older though...

MOLLE's a relatively recent invention, but ALICE clips have been around since the 70s. ALICE clips fit MOLLE equipment, so it's entirely possible that the person who posted that confused ALICE with MOLLE.
