I'm thinking when I hit 300 post I will pay to be a memeber !
Its a great forum and I love the passarounds and spark has great deals.
 
Thanks for reminding me, I've got to renew my Gold membership today. It'll be the second time I'm renewing. If you enjoy the forums and are getting something out of them you should support them. Don't leave it all on Spark's shoulders.
 
I've always thought when I hit the 500 mark I would start paying. What is the price for gold membership?

EDIT: Nevermind, checked it, and that price is cheap. I'll sign up soon as I hit 500.
 
Not sure of exactly when I first signed up as a Gold Member, but it was as soon as I realized that I loved this place and wanted to help keep it running.


Well, DOHHH! I just noticed that my Gold Membership has expired!:footinmou

Because I'm only 17 and have to give my mom cash and then use her credit card to do it. I have to have a certain amount of posts to justify the fact that I am truly involved in the community and should be able to use her card to support it.

I think I went gold about 2 years ago, I was on the board a year or more before that I think.

At some point I realized that I down right USED this forum for information. And it wasn't fair not to do my part.
 
With the way some of you guys accrue post counts why wait?

Don't ya think the forum could use the money now?

Bandwidth and servers cost money, I've been here a while but I bought my membership when I realized that I was gonna stay here, way in the begining of my triple # post count.

Anybody who is waiting for an event or paticular post count # get a membership, buy now don't be silly and wait, there's no reason.

Signed up July of 2001 when it was first implemented. Before that I use to make it a point to buy something from the 1SKS. If you like what we have here then do whatever you can to support the forums. Every dollar helps.

I only had about 80 posts, plus a whole lot of "lurking", when I "went gold". Did it because I was getting a lot out of this place, yet knew I have precious little knife knowledge to contribute, so it just seemed the right thing to do.
 
It gives kevin money over a period of time . I'm sure he dont want everyone to become gold all at once :) its like a lottery thing !
 
I'm going gold as soon as I have a CC of my own... trying again at month end, will be 4 months at this job, should be enough to show it's stable.
 
I was a basic member for nine months which was entirely too long a time to come here gratis. I think it's important to be a paying member because that helps assure the continued existence of and improvements to BFC.

It is highly doubtful that Spark would complain if all the basic members decided to up their membership right now.

I went gold as soon as paid memberships were made available and I just renewed for the second time. For the amount of bandwidth I use up, I get off cheap. Thirty bucks for this place is one of the best bargains you will come across anywhere.

I agree its a great place ! I will pay as soon as i get the money .
I did order some things from the store so I am helping in a way !
