When I first got my Hell Razor, I didn't like the magnums

I got it at the last possible second. I wanted std handles but had to get magnums b/c that was all that was left.

I got the knife and immediately didn't like them. "Eh. I'll give it a few months then sell it for what I paid plus some interest." This was definitely reinforced when I picked up a user SH-E a week later.

All I could think of was, "Cool looking knife, but I just can't get used to them scales."

Forgive me Hogdom. I have sinned.

Today, I picked it up and held it as if I was gonna do some fine chopping. "Hmmm. Nice swell right there. Wish it was in the CENTER of hte knife for chopping and such."

Then I slid my hand back to reach the other swell. d'OH!

I get it now. The rear swell is that far back to GET A GRIP WHEN CHOPPING! Duhhhhhh. Put me down for a Dee-dee-dee. Immediatly, it went in my wife's camping/BOB section. Lighter than my SH-E, but as powerful or more so.

Why, oh why didn't I feel this the first time??? And I was THIIIIIIIS close to putting up a trade for this one for a std-handle one.

Glad I grabbed it when I did. Not gonna give it up. :) Turns out to be the perfect knife for the use intended. Thanks for a great design, Jerry.

love my Razor's. its the first thing I pack. wouldn't want to get caught in the field without it! my preference - best all-around user and those corrugated lines just place it first in the future of being the best knife.

You know, now that I have handled both the standard and magnum handled HR's, I'm not quite sure that I prefer one over the other. The standard is much more nimble in hand, while the magnum provides better grip for heavy duty jobs like chopping. I don't think you can go wrong with either though, just depends on what you'll primarily be using it for.

i didn;t like the mags at first but after time they grew on me. now its mags on 3/16th and standards on 1/4 or bigger
