When is a clip point superior?

I confess that I cannot think of any specific task where a clip point beats drop point and spear point; but I am open to instruction. What will the clip point do that the drop/spear cannot by their nature do as well? I have them all, but in recent years cannot remember opting for something other than drop/spear, except possibly a filet knife.

Clip point is better for piercing and stabbing, drop point is stronger because there's more material behind the tip of the knife.

Stabbing and for when you need a small, fine tip. I think a clip point excels far beyond a drop point, for something like field dressing a deer, or other game.

I see a clip point being advantageous on a very thin knife for detailed work. On a heavy thick knife I don't see much use for a clip point.

Lighter, cooler looks, stabbier, finer, and with a little modification, you can backcut.
That sounded like a Becker infomercial. :D

for sure the clip point excels in penetration no doubt....... stabbing meat with a drop point or similar is just a task :)

besides the obvious the clip point just has that "Tactikewl" look going for it :D

The length of the cutting edge on a clip point is longer than on a drop point of similar length.
