hello Sal, Carlos, Joyce, or anyone who knows the answer,
just wondering what the ETA for for the chinook 2 is. I was planning on getting the old one, but when I found out you upgraded the model, I was wanting one of those instead.
Thanks,
~BoLo~
I hope not. That would be a long wait for a blade that already is being pictured in their catalouge. I cannot even imagine the wait for the para-military which still does not have a publicity picture for it.
I think the leaner/meaner Chinook II is going to be a hit.
I'm eager to get my paws on one when it finally hits the shelves.
BUT wait....
What is the real weight of the Chinook II?
In the '03 catalog, the wt. is listed as 7.25oz--same as the current Chinook!...
Must be a misprint, right?
Also RE the Chin II Sal, nice touch on that SS clip! A welcome change indeed.
No more paint to fade away as happened my Big Chinook. That darned clip was the only thing that would indicate wear (and w/o even much real 'wear' at all, it's all marked up and faded).
Can't wait to see this new version. I was talking to James Keating a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned the new version, said it should be a vast improvement to the first version. I like the present model as a sturdy knife but it is just to big and heavy for me as opposed to other EDC options.
Crap!! I just bought a Chinook. I wish I had known an improved model was on the way.
Is it normal for the chinook to have some movement in the blade? Laterally it is solid but there is enough back and forth movement that you can hear it if you shake the knife while open.
Hi Brasso. Welcome to the Spyderco forum. Enjoy your Chinook. There is ALWAYS a new model on the way. Just a matter of time. One cannot step into the same river twice. The older designs become classics and collector pieces.
Last years autos are replaced with the new models.
