Yeah, it's been at least a few months for me too...
I've been carrying my Case full size Trapper a lot more lately and use the spey blade the most. I decided to turn it into a d spear point as much as the mail nick allows. A few minutes at the grinder and a few more at the buffing wheel and I had a really long spear blade. The change is subtle but I really like it. Almost just as importantly this to change really flow when the blade is closed. The tip of the spey used to stick up pretty abruptly but now it eases into the handle like an old man into a nice warm bath...

I like it! I too, have grown an appreciation for the Case full size trapper, nice job.

That's a nice mod.

Why didn't they ever make a single blade trapper. I'm really interested in one.

One of these days I'll get the gumption up to taking on the project of modding one.

Nice work on that blade!
I have modified all of the open blades on the knives pictured. For me, it really makes them "mine" and it fixes things that bothered me about the blade.

This is a terrible picture, but this is what I did on the knives pictured:
-I don't like the upswept and delicate tip on most clip points, so I grind them down a little.
-In a fair amount of knives, one or more of the blades will be proud or close to it. These tend to be the secondary spear blades on knives, and I make them into a Zulu or sheep foot most of the time.
I used to grind them on my DMT plates, which took forever! Then I got smart and starts to use my grinder, which is far quicker and makes it a lot easier to match the factory blade finish to hide my work better.
Once you do that do one, you will want to customize others!
