When is the Phil Wilson knife coming out???

Costs less than the puuko? That's not going to happen lol. I think the projected release date was June but I could be incorrect.

One of the big online retailers has it on pre-order for $239.95. No mention of when it might be delivered.

S90V blades might never cost less than those made of S30V. Nice try, but not in our lifetime.
No specific release dates are given By Spyderco, as delays can and will happen, this reduces the overwhelming rage that develops in some people with little or no impulse control.

LOL, funny but true.

lol, dont hold your breath for an answer. ive been asking this question for weeks all over the net. in January Sal said it might be late spring, but in the IWA show interview he did in mid March he said late summer. thats the best and most accurate info i can get so far. i hope its sooner, even June would be very cool but things come up so who knows. ive decided to quit pestering them so they can keep making knives. but if i could have one wish it would be for the SouthFork to be the next knife released, one can dream right ;)

Compared to what? It was more than twice as much as the 52100 Mule and more expensive than the M4 Mule by a few dollars.

That's true. But in many people's opinion, mine included, S90V would be a bargain at 4X the price of 52100. What you're willing to pay depends on what you like. I'd pay whatever price was necessary for a Military in K390. Even twice the price of S90V.:p

I wasn't going to buy one, but I figured the upside was too good, and if the handle didn't work for me, I could always sell it. Saw the video and it's looking better and better.

I would be the last to argue that S90V is not worth the extra money, but that still doesn't make it inexpensive. If the steel alone can double the cost of a simple design like the Mule, I think hoping the South Fork will come in cheaper than the Puukko is unreasonable.

Just working with S90V, cutting, grinding, heat treating, tempering, drilling, and finishing costs more in materials and time, and that's not talking about the higher cost of the steel itself.

I'm wondering if the hardness will be higher on this than the mule or the folders.
