As many of you here I own several Beckers, 2, 7, 11 and 16, but I whenever I go on a hike my hand always reaches for the 2. I normally carry my 2 on my belt, a leatherman in the sheath pouch and the Condor bushcraft or mora as a backup in the bag. My question is how do you guys fight the urge not to carry the 2 and carry something else?

Sincerely,
unable to make a decision

I have a BK2, BK13, BK14, ESEE 3, and Cold Steel American Lawman in my pack. BTW, my Wave is always on my side.

That's why I only have a BK2!!! :)

Not that I wouldnt love to have a couple Beckers, but in reality I tend to not keep things if I don't use them (don't like that dilemma "What should I take this time??"). So I avoid accumulating too much, especially things that overlap in usefulness and tasks. So for me the BK2 is just an all-around tool for nearly any job. I do have a couple smaller knives but they don't get carried much. A Boker Plus PSK (2 5/8" fixed blade) is my "other" knife that I carry if it's not the 2.

You don't fight the urge. You embrace it. You become one with it. You accept it. The BK2 knows what's good for you :D

If I'm just hiking, I'll leave my EDC of the 14 and 16 on. If I really think I'm going to be breaking wood down, I bring the 9 for its length.

I'm in the same boat actually. I like my 2, but my 9 goes more places with me. In fact my 9 is my most used becker by a long shot.

I have a 7 and 14, but my 2 got the most use.
I recently gave that 2 to a friend from church and have been missing it ever since!
The 7 just doesn't have that comfortable weight that the 2 carries.
Looking to buy another 2 at the end of the month. God I miss that trainwrecker!
