When not using folder...

... ,as a rookie, I just wonder if You guys keep then open or closed when stored for days or weeks?
Especially those assisted blades, eg. Sog Flash and the kind.

And if there is anything else one should do when not use knife for a some-/ long time?

Stored closed with extra oil in the pivot area and on the blade, and a packet of silica gel to absorb moisture.

I store front opening automatics in the open position, not because I am worried about the springs, but so that I can put extra oil on the blade without having that oil get into the mechanism. That way when it is time for the knife to be used again I can just wipe off the blade.

i prefer closed i just like that way, no another reason
