Kershaw makes quite a few Blur varieties in a number of colors, one of which is the 1670RD in red. The regular variety is a nice red, but apparently something happened along the way to some of these:

Here's some photos I took of the knife...even outdoors it's hard to capture the color...it still looks better to me in person...it almost flashes red and blue highlights as you move it while looking at it:

When red isn't red, it's purple! (perhaps magenta, I guess?) This is supposedly from a special run for one of Kershaw's customers...the born-on date is Aug 03 and the model designation on the blade is 1670RD, the same as the standard red-handled model. The box is missing half it's model label...only Blur - 1670 remains. Another major difference along with the handle color is the mirror-polished clip in place of the standard black clip.

It has a few dings from handling but is otherwise in good shape, and I just had to have it...;)

What I'd really like to know is whether or not this was actually produced by Kershaw or tricked out by a third party...Thomas?

BTT...still hoping for a response from Thomas on the (possible?) origin of this Blur variety...:D

Thanks for your comments, guys!

Hey Ray,
I've been out of touch for a couple days and just got to look at your "red" Blur. Man what a good lookin' knife! Very nice p/u. It'll make a great addition to your collection.

Cheers,
Jonny
