International shipping cost is much more cost effective when packaging few items together. Thank you to Auntie great customer service and patience with me.

This week when I saw something else than the traditional triangle box, I told myself: Oh boy, I hope Auntie didn't have to carry this by herself to the post office. Even the mailman didn't want to do it. I had to go to the post office to pick it up myself.

So here's what was in this big rectangular box:
Heavy_mailman_today-vi.jpg

From the top:
-Tarwar - This is a serious piece of steel. Much heavier than I thought.
-Hanuman - Looks bigger in real life. Largest handle of my collection so far. Beautiful work.
-M43 - Yes, this is the well known M43 featured in Aleous' thread. Stunning blade work by the Kami.
-Belated - Nice and small with gorgeous handle and brass inlay scabbard.
-Large KK - That is one bad a$$ knife :-)
-JKM-1 - So Cuuuuuuuuuuuuute. Nice full tank little fellow.

Feels like Christmas all over again

Almost too much sensory overload all at one time! I'd need a beach towel at hand, I'd be bawling my eyes out with happiness, maybe a second for blood if I got sloppy in my joy.
Had to be a pretty substantial package.
That M43 sings! Ok they all sing.

:D They do sing like a choir...
Substantial indeed, the box is big enough to stage a band of midget musicians.

Nice collection of steel sno! Id like to see one of the Tarwar in person myself. I have short fat fingers and thought them big handles would be a problem for me but they actually give you some lateral leverage on the heavier blades which adds a bit more control if that makes any sense at all? I like em tho! Christmas time for me! Christmas time for you! Who's next?

very nice blades..but the handle on the one kukri with the large bell on the end,beautiful..

He left it out of the description but if I'm not mistaken, that's one of them Chain Puri's. The sheath for it as I also recall was absolutely stunning. Nice inlays, nice wood. Real beaut.

You are right, it's the gorgeous Belated #2 in Auntie recent Valentine offering. (Auntie's pic)

Fun fact, the small Karda was stuck in the wooden scabbard. Even if I didn't pull hard to take it out, I ended up with the handle in one hand and the blade still stuck in the scabbard in the other hand. I had to use pliers to take the blade out of the scabbard.

I filled the handled with epoxy and inserted the small blade back in place and cleaned it. Now it's like new again.

Nice collection on that Haul! Congrats! That M43 is beautiful, really stands out. I think I'm going to have to aim for one of those tarwars one day, looks like a serious piece of steel that I would not want to be on the "business" end of one.

Thanks :-)

The Tarwar at 46 ounce(2.9 pounds) is a heavy piece of artillery. I wouldn't like to be on the business end either. But since the blade barely taper it makes it a relatively slow weapon for slashing. With a bit of luck, a nimble opponent would be able to get out of the way and counterattack the now exposed Tarwar guy.

Of course the other option would be to Indiana Jones the situation ;-)

Thank you, I have been snatching a quite nice variety of pieces in the last few months.

I really like the products sold by HI.

snowwolf, the indy clip is one of my favourites.

harrison was originally scripted to have a long battle scene with the swordsman, using his whip.

he'd had a bit of a bad tummy bug and was feeling miserable, and on the spur of the moment
he improvised to shorten the scene and history was born. the producer saw they scene was infinitely better
than what was planned and decided not to make him do a retake. if you note indy was sweating and looked
miserable and exhausted because he really was.

Right! Funny enough, later yesterday Bawanna told us he was the genius behind this technique and trained Harrison Ford himself.
(ok - this is not exactly what Bawanna wrote, but isn't how good stories are made?)

Then I looked it up and found a version of the story you are referring to.

I didn't say nothing close to that although he did follow my life time acquired technique to a T.

Many accuse me of providing the lines for Clint Eastwood since he was a child. Some make a statement and say hey Clint Eastwood said that, now they see a movie and say hey bawanna said that. Just a fluke. I never told him what to say and he never asked.

Glad to hear the parcel made it safe, thank you for sharing
