When to hot stamp?

Hey fella's looking for a little guidance. I'm curious as too when I should hot stamp my stock removal 1084 blades. My thoughts so far include, grinding about 70% or so of the rough grind, sticking it in my forge and getting it pretty hot (but not above critical), stamping....
So then what??? So do I need to stick it sand to anneal it? Or can the blade just cool and return to grinding? Does my process sound like it'll work or is there some other way I should go about it? Thanks!

I just put my stamp in place and give it a good wack. Only thing I do is reposition and hit again if it's not deep enough. One thing I learned on my first thin knife is to leave the opposite side at a lower grit finish so I could cleanup that sideif it gets marred. I may try and make a fixture to hold my stamp in a harbor freight 20 ton press and press it in.

I do it on my first normalizing heat. Everything is ground within 10% of finished dimensions so it's easy to position where I want it, and it cleans up nicely finish grinding post heat treat.
