how far should you take the secondary bevel before moving to the micro-bevel. A micro-bevel should be applied t at the high grid you have?

Take the edge bevel to the point the apex is completely formed. This bevel supports the micro bevel; it carries it. Just like the primary bevel; take them to zero, they support the edge bevel, which supports the micro bevel. Leave the early bevels to thick and you are detracting from the final result. I like to micro/micro bevel. Same thinking just more refined.

I like to go through the full progression of grits on the primary bevel. Then at the very end on your finest stone, just lift up the blade angle a tad to form your microbevel
