Hello again,
First, let me say thanks for a great welcome yesterday and today to all those who responded to my first post - much appreciated!!
Being new to this forum, I don't know if this has ever been discussed before, so forgive me if it has, so here goes!
Some years ago, I came across a great article in a gun magizine of all places about how important it is to carry a knife with you when you take a dog for a walk. Now at first, you may think this would be common sense - if another animal/person were to attack it would be nice to have a knife. But this was not the reason cited in the article!!
The writer told the story about how his dog (on a leash) took off after a racoon, but got severly tangled up with its leash after jumping over a fense - the dog was literally being hung buy the neck - out came his knife, and it literally saved his dog who would have died in another few seconds.
Since then, I have been faithfully carrying my DESSERT STORM every morning when I walk the dogs.
Luckily, I have never had to use it (its still a virgin), and I will be replacing it when my new NARK gets here (the Nark seems better suited for the job of cutting rope, etc. for which it was designed).
So, for all you dog lovers, always take that knife along! Maybe Jerry can create a special "DOG WALKER" for all us animal lovers.
See ya
