I just bought a NIB 314 sight unseen and didn't ask if it had a date stamp. Can anyone tell me what was the last year that Buck offered these?

Plumber, Are you speaking of the 300 sliplock series ? As those models utilize a only "odd" numbering system . DM

David, it's a 314 Trapper with the black delrin scales and hammer/bolt/knife shield, the large size (4 3/16" closed). I have a David Yellowhorse 314X so I know they were in production in 1990, I just don't know when they stopped making them.

Plumber, Found it in another book . It was introduced in 1990 . The 314, 312 (Trappers) and 310 Whittler (originally a special order knife) are the only ones that I found to have even numbers . I found all three offerings of that model (314) in a 1994 catalog . Found it in the 1996 as well . DM

Funny how it works out that these even numbers mentioned were all really made in house by Buck, the odd numbers were contract......maybe it was planned that way........just guessing in reality no one has ever said so....lets call it 1991 to 1997.

Another expensive LE numbered version Plumb and you will have them all. i.e. EBONY

Cool! Any ideas where I could find one?

Here's all the trappers that I have (not counting a couple of those made in China) until the new 314 gets here.

Dave, Brighten up just a hair, maybe foil reflector or just one notch up on a camera adjustment if you have it. + /-. Red will then really pop.
