I'm getting married in 12 days and the future Mrs. Scurvy wants to get a 2012 Sebenza to celebrate. I've only been able to find a 2011. What time of year do they usually come out?

The Annuals usually arrive in the last quarter of the each year.

Maybe you can get a CRK knife born on the same day as your wedding.

That would be pretty bad ass. I guess I would just have to e-mail the dealers a few months after the wedding to see if they have any 4/21/12 knives?

The last Sebenza I bought was a large micarta from KSF. It's DOB was 1-2-12, so some of them are already out on dealers' shelves. You could try asking the dealers to see if they'll check birth certificates for you. If you end up getting a plain one, you could have your wedding date engraved on the handle scale if you want.

4-21-12 is a Saturday, not a normal CRK workday so that would be hard to find. They would engrave (for a price) the date on your knife if you ask.

I too just received my Umnumzaan ... Paperwork dated - March 21, 2012 ... LOVE IT !!!
Still working it to loosen it up. No where loose enough to "thumb flick" yet ... ordered a tool kit today to loosen pivot a bit.

After opening and closing my new CRK Umnumzaan a few hundred times I had to find another method as I had pretty much warn the hide off my thumb :D
OK, so I'm sure some of you already know this ... but as I was exercising it (breaking-in), I discovered a new (to me) faster/easier method of opening. By placing my thumb nail against the thumb stud and pushing forward (much like shooting a marble) I was able to snap the blade to the fully locked/open position. Much easier and faster then pushing the stud forward with the front/pad of my thumb.

UPDATE:
Just saw a YouTube video of this technique by someone else on the Forum...
