When you first tore into that box holding your Zaan full of anticipation when it arrived, finally unpacked it from that blue cloth, held it in your hand and flicked it open, then gave that handle a squeeze, what were your first thoughts?

"this knife is soooo gooood" honestly my thoughts were racing with many tiny observations occurring under an overwhelming "wow" feeling.... if that makes sense...

Honestly, it was smaller than i thought and felt cheap lol. Then that wore off and i began to love it.

Solid! It felt so incredibly well built. The weight. The slow hydrolic feeling of the blade opening and then how unbelievably quite it was to deploy.

It honestly brought a smile to my face.

I was shocked(in a good way):D

It's not like any knife I've owned and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on it. The ergos are phenomenal and the action was surprisingly smooth from the first flick of the thumb.

It's a beautiful folder and i'll be wearing it with pride:thumbup::cool:

The first time I opened up my umnumzaan, it felt like I just pulled out excalibur.

I could swear i remember "Bad To The Bone" playing somewhere in the background.... I slowly opened the box, unwrapped the Umnum from it's blue cloth and thought....Damn! That there is an appropriate sound track for this :D

I was blown away by the crisp clean lines on the spine of the blade, oooh and that ever so pointy tip! Yep, (brace yourselves cheesy line in 3..2..1..) I knew right away, this one was bad to the bone (sorry)

The scales i thought were just the perfect amount of thickness and texture... I must have put it in my pocket and walked around with it, pulled it back out, looked at it at least a half a dozen times... All the time thinking, man... this guy takes up hardly any real estate in my jeans at all! Since then only 2 knives have made me pause and drool as much upon unboxing. One was my Wilson Combat Umnumzaan that had a it's clip point traded for a tanto blade, the other was my Yuna EQ2.

I remember just being in amazement at how well it was built. The umnum was one of my first CRK purchases, so it really blew me away. It still does.

The flood of emotions, pretty much followed this sequence;

-First visual upon unboxing = Damn, you're a fine lookin' blade Boss-Man.
-Followed by = Wish you were Armor Tuff'd in Black to match my Wilson Combat X-Tac.
-Followed by = Who cares, we'll worrry about coating you in black later; now, get into my hand ~ now.
-Once my grip settled = Damn, I need to ditch this clip.
-Followed by = Who cares about the clip, just flick it open.
-Followed by = Damn, I hope nobody get's hurt.
-Followed by = Oh my, you're butter smooth Mr. Beast.
-Followed by = Ok, even though I plan to carry you, you need to rest in the safe for the night Sir Stab-a-Lot; and while you're in there, don't start a fight by making fun of the other knives.:D

I knew my quest for the perfect knife had ended. This was the first knife I didn't say "If I could change this it would be better." Now I need a mini Umnumzaan for my left pocket. Big hint there Mr. R!!!

(my first thoughts) I'll try not to make my Insingo jealous...lols! I already knew irt was a great piece.
