Congrats, I love Todds swaybacks. That's a pretty special one of a kind set of scales, love that Harley shield.

Best regards

Robin

Impressive! That handle looks like it was a tough one to put together but very well executed. Congrats on your new knife!

AL,
On a scale of 1 -10, It's a TWENTY.
GREAT COLORS and DESIGN, PERFECT SIZE.
NICE BLADE, and I like the Fluted Bolster and Lanyard Tube.
Todd is in the ZONE with this Folder.

Boy howdy, that one is a knockout!

Congratulations and many happy years of carrying to you!

Little story on this knife -

This knife was suppose to be #1043 - Why?

Because I own knife number #43......... and then this knife would be 1,000 knives apart from each other.
I've had the PLEASURE of handling almost every knife that Todd has made (slip joints) I may have missed about 10 or so?
That I did not get to handle before they were sold. I probably could set the record for a collector handling a makers work consecutively as knives made.
I own knives knives #1 and #2..... besides others now.....:)

Have given several away to family. - So sometimes it's hard to keep track of things as you get older......:D

I'll settle for #1048....

It is what it is........ Life is good!

Thanks! - have a great evening.

Just wow! My vocabulary wont let me express myself any better about that knife.

Do you have more pictures? I'm curious about the G10, steel and carbon fiber part. Are the parts just glued together, except for the part with visible pins?

That's a very neat looking knife, I envy you having handling Todds knives that he makes, you are indeed a lucky man!

Living the dream, Al!! It is really a unique knife and is probably the perfect size. Beautiful

Beautiful knife! :) If you don't mind my asking... Was the entire design your idea and then Todd making it a reality.... Or, was there another knife/knives that it was based on? In any case... the execution turned out exceptional :)

Way cool! And at 4" it's the size of a REAL pocket knife!! ;)
Great work by Mr. Davison, and congrats to you on your new Swayback!

Al I really like the creativity Todd has been running with lately with these "stripers" . Yours is a fine one ,congrat's. Todd's knives are some of the most perfect knives, and consistency knife after knife.
His bolster work is of the finest. Put everything together & I put Todd in the Top Tier of slipjoint makers in the World. Merry Christmas Everyone .

PS He sold one,or two that had a look, only way I can describe it is "Retro" . Amazing

The scales are all pinned together very well - I'll show the photo of the first striper #848.....
Two steel pins run down both sides, Todd said it is very hard to do and get other pins to go in between them and the ones inside not to show through.

Todd made this knife #1032 (3 3/4'' Closed) and when I seen it - I told him I wanted one just like it but Orange & Black & Harley Shield. Todd made mine bigger (4'' Closed)
And changed the stripes also added more coined edge to the back of mine..... All which I'm VERY glad he did.

Thanks again guys, I know Todd an my self appreciate the kind words. Sometimes I think Todd takes for granted some of the things he's learned to do over thirty years of making knives. If you look at this knife - there were NO patterns at all to make it. He started by drawing by hand the profile of the blade on a piece of steel with a magic marker, then using his eye to profile it out.

And here are more photos #1048 you ask for........
