My little lady here has a round butt, a swedge for easy penetration and a choil for the rare occasion when one may have to choke up on ‘er,,… don’t worry we have a “safe word”. All this adds up to a balance point just at the top of the first tube fastener.

What’s everyone’s favorite balance point? First tube? Talon hole? Why?

Choppers, somewhere in front of the talon hole since it needs to be blade heavy.

Midsize, about right where yours is or maybe just in front of that around the talon hole depending on the model.

EDC/under 4" whatever makes it comfortable and secure in my hand.

Choppers on the choil. Mid Size (5"-8") and under should be on the index finger.
I guess a 9" knife could go halfway.

My Tank Buster is just about perfect as well.
Funny though, I don't have the swedge or choil and it's even less blade heavy than yours (balancing more in the middle of the first tube).

My favorite balancing EDC is the Bravo 1. I like all of my EDC's to balance there, but it's hard with a full tang handle design. I still wanna get Garth drunk and have him skeletonize a few of my handles for me. LOL

This is my preference to a t.

That's one reason I love my Skinny so much. The balance point is just a touch in front of the first tube.

Ditto.

An inch or two infront of the handle on choppers, maybe more depending on the length of the blade.

Right on the index finger for 4"ish blade knives.

I have to say that the balance on the Ruck is very good for martial arts. On the AK the weight distribution is weird for fighting, perfect for chopping and general tasks.

A bunch of us tested the AK, this is not an elegant solution, but if you hold it at the end of the handle it behaves a lot lot better. You really are swinging the whole thing with no counterbalance. We found it came alive with a lot of the Silat & Kali movments by holding it this way.

cheers

That’s interesting? Is yours an LE?… I had thought about getting another one without the swedge and choil just to have one that was slightly more blade heavy.
