I have been patiently waiting for an AR (I called TAD several weeks ago to let me know when they hit town).

Today I called out to Strider this afternoon to find out that this last week, the current batch of AR's was scrubbed due to a misguided lazer. Now I am looking at another 5 months. Arggggg:mad:

Just venting.

I pre ordered a GB months ago, and I am wondering if mine is going to be in the batch that was just released. Maybe they only did AR's this go around? Oh well, at least I can enjoy listening to everyone else rubbing it in that they got their's. It will make it that much sweeter when I get mine. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.:D

the AR's are one of the most sought after folders on the market right now bar none.

unfortunately demand has far exceeded supply. while we received a supply of them we are still filling backorders. several other dealers got them too but we are all suffering the same lack of folders in the face of overwhelming requests.

to any still waiting on the strider folders, these are well worth the wait and more are coming to all strider dealers.

everytime i want to keep one, i have to end up selling mine to take care of a customer. it will be a long while before i even get to keep one for myself for good.

well, I'm still frustrated, but I'm sure all the fine folks at Srider were especially bummed to have to dump 100 AR blades after the computer/laser problem last week. Hope they don't have additional problems.

The woman I spoke to on Friday afternoon related to me that the entire batch of current AR's being cut by the laser was scrubbed because there was some sort of computer error. Nothing salvageble.
100 down the drain. So know you can see some aggravasion going around.

dont worry about it. Im sure youll get it. There just really busy taking care of more important things, like the people who are going to go fight over if afgani. The longer you wait the sweeter it will be.

Got a Numbered one......... TODAY.......:D

PS. This thing is a BEAST:D :D
I'll let you know what I think after I try it out for a while;)

1whobuys, that's got to be the shortest wait yet, how'd you manage that? Dealer or individual?

1whobuys,
I really don't give a rip that you got #1 or even an AR at all.
You must feel special to have to gloat about it. It's one thing to be satisfied to enjoy a purchase and its another thing to lord it over everyone's heads. My whole point on that thread was to say that more than one person had a bad week because 100 AR's had to get dumped.
How do you think the Strider folks felt for losing their hard earned investment?

It is very unfortunate that 100 blades where scrapped. This is a very awesome knife.
My point is that if you where awake a couple of weeks ago, Mick Strider told the entire world that he was getting ready to ship 100 or so knifes to dealers.
That my freind was the key.......You can hunt or you can starve.
I'm a hunter!

And one more word on those 100 scrapped blades......
It IS very unfortunate,
Every one should have one of these "Main Battle Tanks" in their hands.
As Mick Dunde says..."Now this is a knife"
A job done well Mr. Strider.

Damn, I knew I should've called around when I saw that post but I already had one ordered through TAD so I gambled that I might be in their first batch. Oh well, it's gonna be that much more kick ass when I finally do get it :)

Wake up!!!
Hey guys, one of the best guys on BF, jbravo, has one posted for sale this very minute in the for sale/individual forum.

No offense but $350 is not going to get you a number in the very low teens without a wait.

Which brings up the question, would you really want a low number? Considering the improvements and mods made to the later models, you could argue that a lower number should bring a lower price, unless of course maybe it was actually #1. Just having a "low numbered" AR is not much good, I would think.

Also, OSO Grande has AR's in stock at $395 right now, and should be shipping me my AR today and I should have it in hand tomorrow, finally!

Quick note about the lower numbers bringing in a lower price. I really don't see it like that, imho. Yes Strider has been making changes, but to call them "improvements" and such might not be entirely accurate. What in the world could have been improved from the first one created? :) Its just some of the styling features, such as a flat grind blade, redesigned thumbstud, and rounded edges on the G-10 slabs.

I have #041, and would pay the same price for any serial number, just to have another AR on my side.

Dark Nemesis,

It's more of a "low number" does not add any value or prestige. Maybe, just maybe, if you had #1, that might be worth a bit more overall. There is just no difference between #2 and #100 or #500, or so on..Having an AR marked "proto" might add some good value.

Once you get past #1, design improvements or modifications might add or subtract resale value, but the number does not mean much.

Add to all of this the fact that the AR's were not sold in sequence, and the numbers mean even less.

Even worse is that when that AR sold for $525, I know for a fact that OSO had them in stock for $395, although they are sold out now.

It really gets me to wondering just how much is too much? Would I be gouging people if I put my AR, that I just bought for $395, up for sale at $550 right now, because there really are none available from the dealers now?
Mine has dual thumbstuds, a serial number, the nicely rounded G10 scales, and the improved liner lock...
