I attended a Martial Arts training camp about fifteen years ago. There I trained with a knife fighting artist. His instruction was with a Ka-Bar 1217. I learned the proper technique on how to throw, and many fighting strategies, etc. I was instantly partial to the knife. Prior to leaving the camp, I purchased two of them from him at a "great" deal, (one I still have today and in EXCELLENT condition). An awesome knife! I would like to purchase two or three more, and, as a bargain hunter, am in search of the "best" deal. Can anyone direct me to either a dealer contact, web site, etc. that could help me out. I have done looking around on the web (ebay and a few dealers), and have found a site w/ a $39. + 5.95 s&h offer. Is this the best I can find? This would be greatly appreciated!

Camillus and Ontario make very similar knives for a little less money. The style of knife represented by Ka-Bar's 1217, regardless of the maker, is loosly termed a "kabar". I've owned and carried a few Camillus fighting/utility knives during my 23 years of military service, and liked their functionality, plain subdued looks (black) and cheaper price than the actual Ka-Bar brand. Just to let you know you have options.
