Hello;
Could one of you good folks tell me where fallkniven knives are made? I have gone on their website, searched other sites, even looked on the blade of my newly purchased A2 blade, but can't find a definite answer. I've heard they are made in Japan, but am not sure. Are all of their blades made in Japan? I've been impressed with the quality of workmanship of their knives and am curious to know where are all their models made. Any links or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
ghost

Japan for sure, and I seem to recall G. Sakai for some reason.

Great knives, though, wherever they are made.

Originally some were made in Germany but now all are made in Japan. The steels are all Japanese ,VG-10 and 3G and they are excellent !

They are a Swedish Company but I don't know if or when they ever made knives in Sweden or anywhere except Japan. They showed up in the USA in about 2000 and at that time were all made in Japan.

I do have info that states that they established a factory in Sweden in 1984 specializing in military knives.

I bought a WM1 blade to put a micarta handle on quite some years ago but have not gotten to working it yet.

I have a U2 folder on order that will be my first Fallkniven so I am looking forward to it.

where are fallkniven's made?

My first reaction to questions like that is "what does it matter?". Fallknivens are very nice knives (I've got 19 of them!), and as far as I know they are made in Japan. I think that each and every knife with a VG10 blade is made in Japan?

Anyway: made in Japan, good quality, OK price. What are you waiting for???:D

Welcome to the forum, John. Jos just doesn't want this degenerating into another Cold Steel bash and defend thread. That seems to be what happens every time someone asks a question like yours.

no i own half of cold steels catalog and love them, especially the srk. I just noticed the similarity in design, sorry for the misunderstanding.

You are way more diplomatic than me Keith!

Welcome to the forums John. But please ask questions like that in the appropriate subforums and threads.

Kind regards,

I just got my first FallKniven in and it is made in Sweden apparently. I had the model number wrong before I guess, but this is a TK4 I think. Smaller to medium size folderwith black zytel handles labelled 3G laminated steel and the blade is stamped "SWEDEN". It seems to be a very nice piece. Everything says Sweden on it from the black laquered wood box to the knife blade.

So i am going to have to say that some models at least are made in Sweden.

Currently Fallkniven models are made by very good knife-makers in Seki-City, Japan. They do a good job. I am not at liberty to disclose which makers.
