Hey i was just wondering where are all the Canadians out here?

Also, if they know of any choice places to pick up knives....online or otherwise...

Thanks all...

Well a handful of BC people probably were watching the Canucks....
I tend to shop from stores, so I don't know any good sites.

Hi redstripe,

Welcome to the boards, eh! :)

Well, you did not mention where you are or whether you prefer customs or production...so I'll just assume you want customs :)

The bi-annual CKG shows (in Toronto) are a GREAT place to pick up custom knives (although there are production knives at the October show)...feel free to check out the 7 part review that Murray and I posted and the 4 part review that cockroachfarm posted in the custom forum if you would like a better sense of the types of knives you can find at the shows.

I second the recommendation for Neil Ostroff at True North Knives (out of Montreal)

ProEdge is another Canadian online dealer worth looking at if you are into tacticals... http://www.cgocable.net/~proedge/tact.htm

Another Canuckle-head signing in! There are no decent online knife sources in Canada that I've been able to find so far. There must be something in the water up here that knife suppliers are unable to put together a decent website...

Online discount stores in the US are the cheapest option at this point, and will have far superior selection...

Hello, eh!

As far as another online guy, try www.targetknives.com They are in Calgary and have an amazing sellection of knives!

There are also lots of hobby makers around. I myself am a hobby maker, and I know of a few other guys in Lethbridge who make knives. In fact, I was knife making today, and I'll be out there grinding tomorrow!

RL: what two months does the CKG runs its shows in Toronto, and do they run it anywhere else?
Cause October is definately not convenient for me and I'm assuming the other time would be February, and that ain't convenient either.
Redstripe: Oh I didn't spot that you're new here, Welcome to the forums!

We have some very valuable members here from Canada and some fantastic makers that drop in from time to time also. B.F. would not be near as enjoyable to me without their participation.

Hi calyth,

The CKG shows are in October and April (we just had a show two weeks ago)...AFAIK, they do not hold the shows outside of Toronto...here are links to my reviews of the last 3 shows:

I agree. Even with Custom fees, the deals are still over the line. Also, the Canuck buck is the strongest it has been in the last 4 months.

I have always had good luck with Bayou Lafourche Knife Works.http://www.knifeworks.com/

Cheers,
Gord

I was off april 18... Do you guys know whether they're held on early april or late april?

The shows are usually the second weekend of April...the same weekend as the Classic Car Auction, Spring Motorcycle Show, and ATV/Snowmobile Show (these three shows are just a few minutes drive away)...check out www.ckg.org

There are a few of us lurking about :). My first choice is to deal with makers directly, for many reasons including having truly custom work done, and as has been said above, we do have some Canajun dealers and the CKG site is rather good too. But there are some first rate American dealers too, like Les Robertson, KnifeArt, AzCK etc. Don't hold their geographically inferior domicile against them too much :D.

PS. For those of you who are loading your guns and putting up posters with my picture saying "Dead or Alive", "geographically inferior" means south, OK?
