I just read another article over the weekend how a Environmental special interest group and a judge was able to shut down the United States Navy submarine detection system because the Sonar could cause some marine life to go deaf. Which is a load of crap, but that is besides the point.

Special Interest groups often use lawyers to change or enforce laws through the courts because it is easier than trying to lobby for new laws.

So my question is where are the Groups or lawyers for the knife industry or enthusiast?

There are some knife-related organizations:

Are you a marine biologist?

Thanks for the Links Bob, I was not aware of AKTI. I only knew of knife rights which appear not to be involved in any Lobbying or legislation activity. Which I could be wrong.

Also I am not a marine Biologist, and do love the outdoors and animals. However I am not in favor in sacrificing our national defense to protect the hearing of marinelife. Just my humble opinion.

I don't think either group is heavily involved in lobbying or legal defense for average knife owners, outside of organizing letter-writing campaigns. And, unlike the NRA, neither group is involved with educational programs, youth programs, standardizing training curriculum, or national certification standards.

No problem. An interesting discussion for the Political section perhaps?

That was the point I was trying to make. I am surprised Knife manufacturers and owners do not push these organizations more to protect our right to carry. I honestly believe if we are not heavily involved in lobbying or challanging laws in court these types of organizations are not worth having. Just my opinion.

As far as debating submarines vs whales in the political section, maybe another time. But thanks for the offer:)
