Where are the small Vantage pros in paperstone? Am I the only one that loves my 340?

Hey Buck fans!

I decided to hop on over to this part of the forums tonight, as I'm looking for any information on the possibility of a higher end 340 in paperstone... I'm a long time Buck fan, having owned(and since lost :() a 422 for as long as I can remember and have recently decided to try out the Vantage line. I picked up both the Vantage force pro(847) and the vantage select(340) in blue paperstone and have fallen in love. :) The Force pro in S30v is a slick looking solid folder that not only looks great but also feels great in hand. The smaller 340, however, is a perfect edc blade for me. It's small, lightweight, fits into the corner of a pocket and with the blue paperstone, looks and feels great. Believe it or not, my smaller 340 actually came MUCH sharper(shaving sharp) than the 847 and for a knife under the $30 price point it's great. My question is... being that paperstone is a paper/resin mixture, it's similar to a paper-based micarta, right? So why are there not more blade options with the paperstone handles? Am I the only nut that likes the look and feel of them? :)

Well, I suppose I could live with a small vantage force pro, if that were to ever arise. Sorry for the ramble, but I like these knives. :)

Since you asked. No, I'm not a fan of any version of the small Vantage no matter what the scales are made of. They are too small for that style of knife to suit me but I have umpteen versions of the larger one and really like them all. Plus, I just don't like paperstone.

Since it seems that the nylon Select and the Paperstone Selects were introduced as entry level knives at a much lower price (msrp's of $33 and $35 compared to $54 for the Avid) it doesn't surprise me that they don't offer a premium blade.

I don't see the 340 getting much mention on the forum, so I suspect others have the same opinion of that model as I do.

If you love it, that's all that matters.

Well that's such a shame. I would have though there'd be more interest in that model. It's quite the capable knife. :)

I really like the Paperstone scales. I've installed a few countertops in Paperstone and think highly of the product. Even more so when used on a knife.

I love paperstone but the small vantage is too small for me as well. Plum sent one to my daughter and its a stout little knife, and she loves it but it doesnt fit my hand well and the flipper is hard to deal with because of its size.
