where are you ending your tapered tang?

I haven't done a tapered tang yet but need to just for the practice. I understand how to do hollow it out and flat grind it, I'm just not sure where you end the front of the taper at. Can anyone tell me where they are ending it and what to look for?
If you end it at the back of the bolster, how do you match the bolster edge with the taper edge? Any tricks on matching the angle of the scale and the bolster.
If you end the taper at the front of the bolster, how do you match things up there?
...or is it best to carry the taper most of the way up let the blade grind cover it up?

I usually end them just in front of the bolsters. On some, I take it all the way to the plunge. Either way, the handrubbed finish blends it in.
The bolster and scale will be on the same plane, whichever way, if that's what you mean.

Don Cowles does it like Mike does too. I have always ended it just behind the bolster and trimmed up the leading edge of the scale on the contact wheel. I think Mike's way looks better and hope to train myself for that next time...
