Curious - I have a VERY modest knife collection compared to some (3-dozen or so, give or take). For those who who have 50, 100, 200 knives and more..what are you storing your knives in?

I have several of these I am using:

Curious to see what others are using...

my small collection (under 25 i think) resides in an old bread box that i fixed up, they get rolled up, cept for the celluloid ones they sit on top with plenty of air circulating and away from the rest:D

I like the Craftsman chests. The drawers are short since they are made for wrenches and ratchets, so they're perfect for laying knives in. Some padded liners and you're good to go. It's also lockable if you have little ones in the house.

After breaking my legs my folders are in the bottom of my dresser, slipjoints on the wall in a bathroom gift box "house", neck knives on the wall (all in bedroom). MY fixed blades are mostly in a cheap wooden bookcase inserted between the openings. My axes are partially on the wall in my former dojo downstairs (now a storage area after the birth of my daughter), partially in a plastic garden tool holder. So basically a couple of hundred items all over the house.

I like that Craftsman tool chest idea, and am going to install one of those into the Knife Room once it's completed.

My most cherished except for the one in my pocket are in the gun safe, the rest are in my knife roll in a knife drawer. I also have some in stash places about the house.

Here's something that arrived yesterday. I got tired of having my smaller knives scattered everywhere and thought this might do the trick to keep them together. It holds a good number of my knives, I keep the large Busse's separate and my less expensive stuff is still stuffed in drawers, but it's a start!

I use a small flightcase, the surface area of a laptop case, but some 4-5 inches deep.
Here's my commitment: ok, I don't have a really big collection, but my aim is too keep them all (except the Opinels which are in the kitchen) in that case. If it gets full, something will have to be sold before I add something.
