The subject actually raises a couple of questions - what do you mean by "parang", and are you looking for a collector's piece or a user? Stone's Glossary of Arms And Armor says "parang" is a class name for a Malay chopper or jungle knife, and then lists 11 different types, 4 of which are illustrated and all different in design, one of which is apparently another name for a barong. Barongs are available (new) from http://www.invis.com/kriscutlery/barong.html and (collectible) http://www.mdenterprise.com/moro.htm . Lion Gate Arms and Armour has 3 collector-grade parangs (1 Philippine , 2 Indonesian) currently listed at http://www.antiquesword.com .
Hope this helps.
