Hi all,

Been wanting to build a skinner for a long time. Looks like we have nothing but time tight now so I thought about making a knife. I think I'd rather have a "ready to build" blank for this first build. I'm not equipped yet for heating/forging/grinding blades. I'm leery of the Pakistan blades flooding Ebay and Amazon. I'm looking for a simple design that I can expoxy G10 scaled and mold a kydex sheath. Can you guys recommend something in the 20-30 dollar range?

Thanks

Thanks.

Thanks. Idk how I overlooked that site. Lots of cool blades and supplies. This could get expensive.

Not could, WILL get expensive.

The other option is to have a knifemaker make you a blank. I’ve done a few for people here in Canada.

You mention epoxy to hold G10 scales on tang - you might wish to consider a pin (Corby, etc) to help hold scales on as well as epoxy.

I like the Knifekits.com website, well organized

Also see Alpha Knife Supply - they sell small pieces of material that keeps your price down - do your own.

All good options.
I think "blank" isn't the term you're looking for. Typically a blank does not have the bevels ground, and often isn't heat-treated (tho these days many bevels are ground after heat). You're looking for a bare blade that you want to finish yourself, if I understand you correctly.

Yes. Meant bare blade.
