Where can I buy steel???

Hi all, My name is Darin Hunter and am fairly new to knife making. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to purchase knife making steel such as ATS-34, 154CM, and 440C. I have purchased a few pieces of 1'x 1 1/2" flat stock that ranged from 10-15$ per piece. Like I say I am new to this and am not sure if I am getting raked over the coals or not. Thank you for any help that can be lended.

Several that come to mind that I have bought from are; Texas Knifemakers Supply, Admiral Steel, Sheffield Knifemakers Supply, Jantz Supply. You might use search to just look up suppliers on this web site. I have started rolling out some 52100 flat stock that can be had precision ground or mill run. There are a lot of other suppliers that I haven't used also. I hope this has helped some.

It is far better to know what you are using than to use an unknown steel. Usually the cost of the steel is a small part of the finished product.
