Thanks to 360joules for posting this picture. IT belongs to him and all rights are his. I hope he doesnt mind that I use this picture of his rat to ask a question...

Is this Rat still being made? And if so, can I buy it from SWKW directly? Are they still being made new? And if so, where can I get the price on one new? Thank you.

No it isnt being made anymore

So no you cant get one from SRKW

IIRC it is called the "Rat Shaker"

Thanks Leather. Do you know of another swamp rat that is under 4 inches that I can buy instantly from their store or how ever you can get knives form them right now?

The only knives that you can get from them right now is at www.shop.ratknives.com

The best bet would be posting in the Wanted to Buy Section on Blade Forums.

It's funny my friend picked up two of these brand new at retail from an official Busse dealer at a gun show over the weekend.

Those are cool, aren't they. Not that I know it all about anything, but I think you'll find that the the Company store will have a few offerings at a time. They're not your typical knife company that puts out a line of knives that are available indefinitely. In fact, just the opposite. They put out one offering at a time which kind of overlap somewhat, and then when they're gone, they are gone. This one is long gone. They come up available on the secondary market though.

I believe the upcoming features we'll see should be some Howling Rat LM's (4in. blades), the M6 (6in. blades), and possibly a brief appearance of the Crash Rat Axe (maybe ?). I believe this all to be true, and if it isn't I'll deny I ever said any of it.:D

Just to clarify that knife is a Rat-Shaker II. This model has the handle completely cut out. The original Rat-Shaker had four holes drilled into the handle to skeletonize it. You can find pics of both models at:

www.swampshack.com

Most, if not all, discontinued models are shown on that website. I like the Shaker. It's a cool design. Need to pick one up.

Reconseed,

Email me, as I have a RS I (with 3 holes) that I might consider parting with.

Good looking points and grinds on that knife.
There has been a few request's on the Scrapyard forum for an S7 version.
I guess the idea of one for about 45$ is appealing to some people.
I wouldn't hold my breath though as it is idle specultion and no more likely than the minispec ops. There will be a S7 sterile version of the SS4 after the DF LE.
I can never get close up pics that good, mine are always blurry blobs.

Hi gents,

Please keep offers to buy/sell in the appropriate forum. Thanks.

I think an s7 shaker would be cheaper than that. my Rat Shaker was $59.

Try turning on the macro and maximizing the resolution. Then, in a program like paint, just cut out the part of the picture you want and resize.
