Where can I find 35 mm film containers?

35 mm. film canisters ! You know, the common ones, the round black plastic style with gray lids. Short of taking alot of pictures (which I don't do), is there someplace I can get a bunch of these on the cheap.

Maybe buy a lot of film and resell it minus the canisters? ;)

Honestly, ask you local film development shop. People probably return film in the canisters and they probably have tons of them.
 
Places that develop film usually save up the canisters in a big box, for recycling. I'm not sure if they get money back per pound. They probably won't mind you taking a few.
 
Any pro photo lab will have very large quantities of them, and will be happy to give you as many as you want, for free. Most professional photographers who haven't switched to all-digital will also have some that they can give you.
 
I've seen them for the taking at the photo-finishing counter at Costco. The photo-finishing counter at my local Costco is outside the main entrance door, so you don't need to be a Costco member to get to the counter.
